Blair, Feb 06: The Sanitation workers to Health Department, who have recently
been removed from jobs by the private outsourcing company since Feb 04, 2019
being staged protest in front of Health Department demanding their EPF amount
of last eight years and direct re-engagement in Health Department.
As
per sources, in the first week of January, the outsourcing agency for providing
Sanitation Workers to Health Department reportedly removed around 102
Sanitation Workers, most of whom, were working in hospital since last many
years and they were also hails from financial backward families.
Workers
alleged that earlier many outsourcing agencies had taken contract to provide
Sanitation workers to the G B Pant hospital but never such incident came to the
light.
Many
alleged that there are workers who had been rendering services for the past 8
years still they did not registered under EPF, consequently even after removal
from job we are unable to get EPF benefits from the company.
Mr.
Sanjay Meshak, MP candidate of AAP in Andaman for coming Lok Sabha Election, in
his response, said not paying EPF to employees is a crime and it seems there is
a massive scandal with EPF payment of these employees. Mr. Sanjay Meshak
demanded a thorough inquiry in this regard. "The DHS must remove the
system of appointing a middle man in appointment of sanitation workers. This
outsourcing system must be stopped," he added.
