Missing child found safely

Port Blair, Jan 22: On Jan 21, 2020 at 01 pm, information was received at PS Aberdeen through PCR that a two year old child is missing from Prem Nagar near Uma Bakery. Immediately, a Police team swung into action. After extensive search & efforts of the team, the minor boy was recovered from a drain opposite to Hotel TSG Emerald, Phoenix Bay and immediately evacuated to GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair.

On enquiry, it was revealed that the father had dropped his kid and wife to his brother's house at Prem Nagar. The minor boy while playing in front of his house, entered in a drain which led towards Phoenix Bay but nobody noticed the same. Meanwhile, a large number of people gathered with presumption about the rumors of child lifter in the town but the swift action of police once again proved that no such incident is apparently occurring in the city and quelled the rumors.

The general public is requested to not indulge themselves in such rumors and further requested to pass on information with Police in case of any suspicious activities to 100 / 112 & 03192-233077.

Successful Surgery Gives New Life to 2.5-Year-Old Girl Born Without Properly Formed Food Pipe

Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 30: A 2.5-year-old girl, born with a congenital condition where her esophagus (food pipe) was not properly formed, has successfully undergone a highly specialized surgery at ANIIMS (Andaman and Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences). Immediately after birth, a team of ANIIMS surgeons performed emergency surgery, placing a feeding tube in her abdomen through the stomach to ensure she could receive nutrition. For over two and a half years, the child was fed through this tube, enabling her to gain adequate weight in preparation for a reconstructive surgery to create a functioning food pipe.
