Port Blair, Apr 05: An Orientation-cum-Refresher
Training Programme on e-Office for the Officers of Andaman and Nicobar
Administration is being organized jointly by Department of Information
Technology, A&N Administration and National Informatics Centre.
The orientation-cum-training programme was
inaugurated by Shri Pankaj Kumar, IAS, Secretary (IT), A & N Administration
recently in the conference hall of Dr. BR Ambedker Institute of Technology,
Pahargaon. The Special Secretary (IT), Dr. Utpal Sharma, Shri Gautam Gupta,
ASIO, NIC and Technical Team consisting 4 members from NIC New Delhi were also
present during the programme.
In his inaugural address, the Secretary (IT)
informed that e-Office was implemented in A & N Administration from August
2022 and a total of 57 Departments including autonomous bodies under A & N
Administration, Public Undertaking have been on boarded. A total number of
approx. 3710 users have been registered in e-Office, 19,838 files have been
created and a total 4,28,320 files were processed. The Secretary (IT) further
stated that implementation of e-Office has brought in a paradigm shift in
working of A & N Administration bringing in transparency and increasing
efficiency. He further emphasized the need of training to the officials
particularly, Master Trainers and Local e-Office Administrators as the training
is very essential to continue using e-Office in a sustainable manner. Towards
this, NIC has taken a lead role and deputed 4-member technical team from New
Delhi for training Master Trainers, Local e-Office Admin and Users of the
Department.
The training is scheduled in four modules and
will be held from April 4 to 12, 2023. The four modules are Training to the
Master Trainers; Training to Local Admin; Training to users of various
Department and Orientation -cum- Sensitization Programme to Secretaries and
HoDs. The training for Master Trainers will be held for two days on April 4
& 5. The training held on April 4 was attended by 53 Master Trainers of
e-Office from various Department& AIT Cadre staffs of Andaman and Nicobar
Administration.
In his address, the Special Secretary (IT),
Dr. Utpal Sharma expressed gratitude to the Chief Secretary, A&N
Administration for giving the required impetus in implementing the e-Office in
a short span of one month's time. He also expressed his gratitude for the
active guidance of Secretary (IT) which made implementation of e-Office
possible in such short span of time. He further lauded the tireless efforts of
the Master Trainers and Local e-Office Administrators particularly the AIT
Cadre staffs in making the implementation of e-Office in such short span of
time in all Government Departments. At the outset, Shri Gautam Gupta, ASIO, NIC
State Unit Andaman and Nicobar Islands welcomed the gathering, a press release
