Inspector General of Police (Fire Service), Smti. Varsha Sharma (IPS), interacted with scribes in a press conference held at Fire Services Headquarters on Jan. 08, 2024, and highlighted the Annual Achievements-2023 of Andaman & Nicobar Police's respective units viz. Fire Service, Police Marine Force, and Police Training School. She stated that the Andaman & Nicobar Fire Service & Emergency Services are working professionally and braving all odds to enhance safety and security in these Islands. TMI Correspondent Port Blair, Jan 03: It has been observed that numerous individuals eagerly await a single helicopter ticket for destinations such as Car Nicobar, Campbell Bay, and Little Andaman. Unfortunately, the process is marred by the frequent flying of government officials, who tend to prioritize their own needs at the last moment of ticket confirmation, often sidelining the general public, alleges some people. Ordinarily, people opt for ship or boat travel unless they face emergencies or specific needs that warrant helicopter transportation, as the former is more economically viable for them. Consequently, the frequency of general public travelers using helicopters is relatively low. It is imperative to enhance helicopter services in these islands, not only catering to the needs of government officials but also ensuring improved air connectivity for the benefit of islanders and tourists alike.

Alok Ram of the A&N Police has been recognized for his significant contribution in the implementation of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) & Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS). On 22/12/2023, he received an award in the individual officer's category in category 'C' of States/UTs having less than 50 Police Stations by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) during the 5th Conference on Good Practices in CCTNS/ICJS held at NCRB, New Delhi. C. Alok Ram began his service as a Police Constable on 24/09/2012. In 2016, he was posted to the CCTNS Cell and dedicated nearly seven years to the project.
